Birthday Books!

Thank you everyone for your Birthday wishes!! These are the three books that I got from Leeds last Saturday. I have lots of interesting reading to look forward too!!
My Granddad Higham would have been 90 years old today!! I haven't met any of my Grandparents but I like to think that I got my Engineering interests from my Granddad because he was an Engineer and was in the RAF in the Second World War.
(The picture above is my Granddad and Grandma Higham in the 1940's)

Lucy,
What a lovely photo of your grandparents. Keep it safe somewhere and one day it might feature in some of your craft work. Those books look like they'll keep you quiet for a while! I have a habit of buying loads at a time and then forgetting to read some of them for months. I can't resist a bookshop so know what a treat it must be to have these lovely gifts for your birthday. Glad you had a great day. Lesley xx

What a good time you will have reading your new books. It is nice to see your family connection coming down the line too! 'The Dark is Rising' is the only one I know, though I have heard of the other two. Have fun!

I bet you've read at least one , maybe more, of these books by now. I like the picture of your grandparents. They look happy. It's a pity you haven't met them. Grandparents have only love to offer. Little one was 2 when my mum got sick and 4 and a half when she passed away. I'm trying to keep her memory alive by reminding him of songs she taught him and showing him things she made for him.
Your grandad would be very proud of you. I am too, even if I haven't met you. You're my shining example that not all teenagers are superficial.
Take care!
