After Christmas Day.....

Smithy and Candy were very full after eating all the leftovers from the Christmas dinner!!! They both enjoyed a lovely play around in the snow afterwards. At the end of their play outside Smithy and I got ready for a lovely nap!! My Christmas present from my mum will be very useful for school work and general crafting!! I was very pleased. :) I hope you have all had a super Christmas and have a happy new year!!

Merry Christmas!!

Just recently I watched on Television, Lemony Snickets 'A Series of Unfortunate Events' It reminded me of my favourite set of books! I have taken a photograph of the set of Lemony Snicket books.
It is still snowing here and we are snowed in! I made these christmas baubles out of Hama beads a long time ago! With this song I would like to wish you all a fantastic Christmas and New Year.
Thank you for visiting my blog and giving me joy and happiness.
HAVE YOURSELF A MERRY LITTLE CHRISTMAS
Have yourself a merry little Christmas
let your heart be light,
from now on,
our troubles will be out of sight,
Have yourself a merry little Christmas
make the yule-tide gay,
from now on.
our troubles will be miles away...........

Yiota's Christmas Party!!

I am sat watching the snow fall, drinking Hot Chocolate and eating a nice slice of cake. What I love about Christmas is how everyone thinks about everyone else and families meet up and share things! Thank you Yiota for setting up this fab christmas party :P

The Robin and the Puppy...

End of term, school work has meant little time for crafting this week, therefore just a photo I took of one of the many birds that visits the garden to feed from our bird feeders!!
And I love looking back at Smithy when she was just a little puppy.

I wish she was still a Puppy!!!

Saturday outing.

Sunday and today I have had a high temperature and a bad cold so I have not been able to do my usual weekend post. But what has kept my spirits high is knowing that I have won Yiota's lovely goodies in her giveaway!!! YAY :)
Luckily on Saturday I took part in a girl's Enterprise day at my school, It was a lot of fun!! I chose to make chocolate truffles and peppermint creams at the 'Sugar and Spice' workshop, also took a photo of my friend and myself and put different backgrounds on it, and finally did some sand blasting on a square piece of glass which became a candle holder!!
I hope you are all well.

Gardening for wildlife.

We have joined NATURAL ENGLAND'S 'The Big Wildlife Garden' campaign. I have made a bug house out of wood and we are creating a variety of wildlife habitats throughout the garden.
The compost bin is well used and full of worms!! A hedgehog visited the garden regularly this autumn to fatten up before hibernating for the winter.
Just a quick post today as I have an exam next week! Lots of studying to do !!!!
Enjoy the week ahead.

Blankie!!!

Finally!! My blanket is finished. My mum has been crocheting a large blanket for my bed (all made out of 100% wool) and it is done...
Nice and colourful just how I like it!!
Along with all that excitement I decided to make a custard tart. never really made one before so it was an experiment.

Lovely, a lot of work to prepare the pastry and surprisingly the centre took a mere 5 minutes to make!!!!
Well that's all for today.
Hope everyone has a nice week.

Earings and more....

Along with my art grade, all my art equipment came too!!

After all that excitement I decided to make a necklace. I always like to try out different ideas and this one turned out OK :)
I was handed an earring request, due to a well liked earring being lost. So I began to replicate it!
On the left is the original, the right are the replicas in a different colour.

As I was in the mood for making earrings I decided to copy (in a different colour) my mums favourite earrings.
To finish off with, my little creation of fun!!

Well that's all for today hope everyone has a nice HALLOWEEN!!!

MY Etui box .....

I took the pictures of the last page(s) of my art sketch book a few days ago, thinking that I had prepared for my next post. I handed it in (awaiting results should get them on Monday).
SO this morning I came to the camera and put the memory card in and wallah..... nothing, it had completely vanished!!
To cheer myself up I baked :) Cinnamon swirls, yummy!!
Fortunately I had something I was saving for a day like this. (the reason for the title) A family friend invited us over as 'guinea pigs' for her handmade Etui lessons, it was brilliant. My mum and I chose the material and followed instructions and the result (I think anyway) is great.
I managed to find some on ETSY, they look good.
Have a nice week everyone and hopefully I will have got my art results soon :)

My Art project.

I have been doing my art project for over a week now and I still haven't finished!! Some photographs have been taken, not close up though but will do that once I have finished and I am happy with the results.First and second page, on the left are two of the artists (Gina Mikel) paintings and next to them a copy of a certain part of them. On the right there is info on the artist with some decorative tissue paper around it.
Third and forth pages. On the left two more printouts of her work with written analysis and a copy on the right in watercolours with another written analysis.
Fifth and sixth pages, on the left a flap with info underneath and on top foam writing (saying Graphite and Ink) with sponged paint on and ink around the lettering. Underneath there is a print out of a graphite and ink drawing and next to that is a leaf from the garden and a watercolour painting of it just below. (unfortunately the leaf has gone a bit brown :0 ) On the right there is the same picture as on the left but cut in half and the right side of it is drawn in pencil and Indian ink by me.
To finish off, I baked some buns and thought "its close to Halloween" So I decided to do Halloween buns!!
Well that is all for today's post, hope you liked it :)
have a nice weekend Lucy x

Spider hunt!

This weekend has been "buglife's" spider hunt. My mum and I spent the weekend looking in little nooks and crannies, in the shed and corners of the house. But the main place we found them was......
The washing line!!! I took a few pictures:
I'm not one for spiders really but its all for nature :)
That's all for today see you soon!

Bronte parsonage museum.

Yesterday I took a trip to the Bronte Parsonage Museum, which is very close , I'm surprised that I have never been before!! Unfortunately I didn't take my camera but here is a link - BRONTE PARSONAGE MUSEUM.
I had an order to complete from my Auntie: some earrings and I made some little felt pouches to put them in.
I also made something new - A pouch to carry your keys in - It goes around your neck and as you pull the ribbon it pulls the keys into it. Take a look.
I did a Halloween themed one with some new neon orange thread, which worked very well I think.
The most crafty thing I make is bracelets, not the weaved kind I do on my loom but the straight forward, on some elastic type ones. I made quite a few I must admit, so simple yet so popular.Well that's all for today, hope everyone has a nice week

A little visitor!

A little visitor came to see me on Wednesday, I was sat making some beaded things, when i saw Candy sniffing at my school bag. I thought it was a spider. (since I had one in my bedroom a few days earlier) So i stayed on my bed just in case!! After a while candy went out of my room so i decided to shut the door, and all of a sudden i hear cheeping! I had to investigate!! After moving my bag, a cute little birdy flew out onto my bed!!Around I ran trying to catch it, it went under my bed behind the curtains everywhere!! Finally i caught it, it turned out to be a juvenile blue tit! The only way it must have gotten into my room was via my window which wasn't open very wide.... odd!!
Hope everyone has had a nice week
