Art project and Sunshine Award!!

I have been awarded the Sunshine Award by Jane at Marigold Jam !! Thank you :P There are so many people I could nominate for this award, so I decided to give it to everyone that I regularly visit on my Blog list, because I think YOU are all so inspiring!!!

Finally I thought I would show you my painting of President Lincoln copied from the artist - Cathee A Clausen - This was set as my next Art project for school and I am very pleased with the result! It is not how I would normally paint a face but it has shown me that painting with unusual colours can look just as affective!

I hope you have all enjoyed your weekend. Thank you for visiting.

Finished bag and exciting mail!!!

Look what was waiting for me when I got home from school: Garden Bell's CD give-away!!

Thank you Kate, I have been listening to the music although it is different to my usual music I really like the CD and recognise some of the tracks. (I especially like 'Slow Ride / Foghat')

Below is my finished bag. I should have double lined it like the lovely bag Marigold Jam did and next time I would make the holes larger to show more of the lining through. I have also added beads to the ends of the drawstring. Overall I have enjoyed doing the bag and have learnt from it!

I am off now to listen to more of the CD and to study for an exam tomorrow!! Thank you everyone. :P

A spot of baking!

A little bit of baking goes a long way when its too cold :) So I decided to make some Jam Tarts and Cinnamon Muffins!! Yummy
I have started to make a Crocheted bag, the design from Marigold Jam. All I really need to do now is add the lining. What I thought was a nice pink fabric because it would be contrasting to the green?! Thank you Jane for your advice.
I will show you the finished bag soon. Thank you everyone for all your kind comments.

Thank goodness for books in the dull winter

A picture of my favourite book so far and a book I get very inspired by to do my wildlife paintings.
Robert Louis Stephenson wrote this poem which I like. It reminds me of the Mists of Avalon and also the flowers that I sometimes see growing in the grass outside of school. (Especially Lady Smock!!)
Moonbeam
All the names I know from nurse: (In my case Mum!)
Gardener's garters, Shepherd's purse,
Bachelor's buttons, Lady's Smock,
And the Lady Hollyhock.
Fairly places, Fairy things,
Fairy woods where the wild bee wings,
Tiny trees for tiny dames -
These must all be Fairy names!

Nature Notebook!

I decided to show you my Nature notebook because, I have recently added some paintings to it. Usually painting is not my forte but I thought I would develop my skills. Along with the paintings there are a few pages of general observations! I enjoy recording in my Notebook and would like to fill it with information and illustrations!!
I can't wait for spring!!

My day off school.

I spent quite a bit of time with the dogs because school was closed due to the snow! They loved the snow and had plenty of exercise. Lots of birds came to feed in the garden and one I particularly like is the female blackbird.

Ending with our tree in the garden covered with snow!! In my next post which will be at the weekend, I would love to show you my nature notebook.... see you next time.
