Merry Christmas and a Happy new year!

I do hope everyone has had a very Merry Christmas and the day brought joy and happiness to all!
Not much blogging has been achieved, but studies seem to be taking over at the moment, not very much time to read or bead or do anything that I would usually do! (So I don't know how I will get through the mountain of books that were given to me for Christmas!! I'm sure I will find time eventually ;) )
Thank you for visiting me throughout the year, HAVE A HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

beadalishious

I have been trying out some new designs recently and would love your opinions....
The spider isn't new but the rest are. They are more 3D than they look here.
Maybe I could use them as phone charms? The dragons have difference coloured under-bellies and the wings are convex.

Above shows a tree hole digging session held at my mums school as part of a forest schools project. All the volunteers (including myself) dug holes for new trees to be placed in by pupils later in the week. At the moment the lower school grounds have been planted as a wild flower meadow but in the long run the area should look like a mini forest with walkways and willow structures. Trees planted so far: Oak, Hornbeam, Juniper, Scotts Pine, Wild Cherry, Alder, Elder, Wild rose, Field Maple,Pear, Apple,Beech and Rowan.
Hopefully all this wet weather we are having here will water the trees in!
Have a wonderful weekend!

Allotment update!

The allotment has been progressing very quickly and already I have harvested a huge amount of crop (mostly fresh Peas but also Radish, a few Garlic bulbs, some Potatoes, Red Currants, Strawberries and Raspberries) All YUMMY!! :)
A photo of me harvesting one of the many Pea plants! As you can see there are still lots to pick!
Here are a few cosmos plants to brighten up the allotment on dreary days!
Finally a side shot of the lower half of the allotment!
Lots of weeding to do this weekend, I hope you have a lovely one!

Bead Frame

I was motivated enough to finish off my project:
I chose a wavy pattern as I thought it would test my patience even greater than my previous Frame as it took more time up having to change the colours frequently. It was especially difficult to choose colours that blended into one another as you could only really tell if they were correct when they were permanently in place!
I hope you like it!
Have a great weekend!

Finished!

My GCSE years are finally over, I have done all my exams and hopefully I have done well! Here is a picture of me on my last day of wearing school uniform :)
I don't have to go back to school (to learn anyway) until September, which will give me plenty of crafting time! :) I have already managed to make my mum some earrings I saw in a bead magazine that caught my eye.
They are supposed to represent fruit and leaves. But as I work mainly in sead beads I only had large red beads for the fruit. But other than my 'lack of fruit' I thought they looked very organic looking! :)

I am onto another beading project which I am half way through, but like almost everyone, the immediate project takes a back seat for a while as something newer and more exciting comes along; And this has happened with me :) - Re-decorating my Bedroom!

I always love to read all your very nice and interesting blogs and I love reading all the wonderful comments you leave on my blog!
Have a wonderful week ahead!

Allotment update...

With all this hot weather the allotment has needed LOTS of attention. My mum and I have planted a variety of things to eat when they have grown: Carrots, Onions, Garlic, Peas, Potatoes, Borage, Radish, Beetroot, Strawberries....and many more!! We have also planted two Apple and Pear trees.
So much watering to be done!
There is still a tremendous amount of work to be done! Masses of grass and weeds to be dug out, but now it will have to wait until the summer holidays.
Wishing you all a very happy Easter!

Crafting Blanket!

My mum has crocheted me a nice blanket that will keep me warm as I craft! It is so pretty and colourful just how I like it!!!
It really is beautiful!! Thank you mum!! I'm pretty sure I should be giving you a gift as it is Mothers Day soon! :)
I have started my first few hours of my art exam and it is very challenging!! I have decided to paint a photo of a chaffinch I had taken. The painting will be A4 and looks very large!! During my first 3 hours I have only managed a quick wash of the body and painted the head in detail!!
This is going to prove very challenging!!
I hope everyone has enjoyed those few days of sun we have had recently as it seems to have disappeared again!!
Have a very wonderful weekend!

My fantasy book.

I have always wanted to create my own, lets say.. 'Spiderwick Diary' of fantasy creatures. As a christmas present from my mum, I was given this handmade book, covered in Liberty fabric (Of course in my favourite colour!!)
I had some amazing paper with random words on that reminded me of bark so that was the first thing I put in my book, followed by the title/theme of my book.. Hlulumithi which is Zulu meaning "taller than trees".
My next page 'Gossamer forest' describes the setting/habitat of all the creatures that live in it.
The first creature I created was the 'Thorn Spright' whispy fairy like creatures.
My next pages are not quite finished, but I dedicated one of them to my mum. 'Gill Waders' are a water creature that moves quickly only showing a glimpse of their pink leathery fins and a flash of there breathtaking green eyes!

The TV cartoon show that I used to watch when I was little - 'Avata Legend of Aang' -has always been my favourite and has recently been made into a movie. I decided to do a page using the three main characters just changing their names.

I intend on filling my book with many more drawings, items to add more texture ... and maybe a poem or two?

Happy Sunday! Thank you for visiting!

BACK!!

Rather hectic at school I must say, still lots to do and concentrate on, as all my exams start to lurk around the corner... Not long left for me at school though!! I have chosen my options for 6th form... they will be very hard and time consuming ones (Chemistry, Physics, Maths and Design technology) but they should lead me down the path to becoming an Engineer!
I have moved onto my Exam art coursework now and I have chosen to paint birds as they are amazing and intricate!

I had to paint from artist copies at first;
Then I moved onto working from photos I have taken myself;

On Sunday it was my 16th birthday and I had a small gathering of four friends at home. A picture of two of my friends in the lounge:
I wanted to wear a dress for
my birthday so as one of my presents, I was bought this one!
The allotment is progressing slowly due to the poor weather, but we have managed to sow some chili seeds indoors and plant onions and garlic outdoors!
Hope you are all keeping well and having a nice weekend!
Thanks for visiting!

End of dog project!

My dog project for art is finally finished!! I painted Smithy (below) as another piece of my coursework in acrylics as a change from Candy. I really loved the expression on her face.
For my final piece I chose Candy lurking in the grass. As it was my final piece and I wanted to achieve my target grade, I payed close attention to the fur and background.

My next project will be my last for my art GCSE as it is my exam.

Allotment update:
The ground has been awfully hard recently, so we have not been digging much, however my mum and I have bought some seeds ready to sow and we are taking some nice pieces of wood over tomorrow, ready for me to build some raised beds and other useful things.

I am relieved to hear that I have achieved my target grade in my maths GCSE early and have progressed onto A Level maths to get a head start, so lots of homework ahead!!

Sorry I have not been on a lot recently as I have not been particularly well, but soon to see a paediatrician, who will get me back on track!
Hope everyone has a relaxing weekend!
