First EGG!!!

We now have our first egg and after thinking about it for a while I decided to just simply fry it and taste the yummy goodness!!
I have named the chickens Ruby and Bonnie. Ruby had red, sore skin where her feathers were missing when she arrived, but now she has normal skin colour and I hope the feathers grow back! Bonnie has a very crossed beak and she sometimes misses what she is trying to pick up! They are two chickens given to me from a friend of a friend. I don't know where they originally came from! They have settled very well and do lots of scratching about at the side of the house.

It is half term week now and I am going to Northumberland with my mum and with my maths study book! There is no Internet where I am going and I will miss everyone's blogs for a week!
We break up for the summer holidays on the 23rd July which seems a long way off right now!

I will be able to do some crafting whilst I am away and then do a blog when I return to show you.
Will miss you all!
Love Lucy xx

I remember that feeling of getting our first egg from years back when we kept a couple of hens! I worked out that it had cost us about £100 taking into account the house and run, feed and water bowls plus the feed etc but it did taste wonderful!!

Have a good break and hope you can balance the maths study with some craft work. Enjoy yourself and we look forward to hearing about it on your return. 23 July will be here before you know it!

Hope you have a great week away Lucy. Life without the internet will be a rest I expect. What about Ruby and Bonnie? Will you have a chicken sitter? Imagine all those eggs they'll get for their breakfast! Good luck with the maths. Lesley

Such an absolutely beautiful egg!
Say hello to Bonnie and Ruby from me. I love to sit and watch happy chooks! But there are none here, so I will enjoy thinking of you having that pleasure. I hope you get some lovely crafting done too!

Wow Northumberland my fave place in all the world. Your hens must be happy to have laid so well done. Did you have dippy soldiers?

You are such a lucky girl. A fresh fried egg, perfect way to start a day.

Have a great holiday. Take lots and lots of pictures. I have no clue about Northumberland. Off to google.

We will be so glad when you are on break from school and can join us all back in bloggland.

Remember, to look up from the Math book and see the sights, kiddo.

Toodles,
Fry On,
Kate
